Award Winning Restaurant in Keswick

Swinside Lodge Hotel Restaurant is an excellent place to eat in Keswick, your taste buds will be watering with our delicious dining menu.

We take great pride in the quality of the food we serve in our award winning AA 2 Rosette restaurant with dishes created by Chef Clive Imber. We are recommended by Michelin as a very 'Pleasant Hotel', and have recently been given a breakfast award by Visit England.

Evening starts off at the restaurant with aperitifs together with canapés. Ingredients for our daily changing set four course menu are sourced as locally as is practical, including beef and lamb from farms in the immediate vicinity, bacon dry cured by our butcher himself and eggs totally free range together with fish sourced only from sustainable fish stocks. Selections of fresh vegetables accompany the main course and each evening we offer a traditional hot plus cold dessert. Coffee or tea and petits fours will round off a memorable evening.

Throughout the menu home grown, local and wild fruits are utilised extending to the making of chutneys to accompany an assortment of the best of Cumbrian and classical French cheeses.

Selected herbs used extensively throughout the menu are grown in the hotel gardens and all breads for dinner together with soups and ice creams are home made.

Seasonal game is readily available both through our local butcher and supplemented by our neighbour, Lingholm Estate.

Guests with special dietary requirements are carefully catered for with equal importance being given to the preparation of vegetarian dishes.

Dinner at the Swinside Lodge hotel is incomplete without fine wine to complement Chef's delicious cuisine. Our restaurant offers wines sourced from family growers who use traditional methods, observe conservation cultivation in order to respect the environment and produce ‘clean’ wines. The wine list is continually evolving with an impressive choice of over 75 bins, 12 of which may be taken by the glass and 25 priced £25 and under. Our list was recently chosen by the AA as a Notable Wine List for wine selection and presentation.

Non residents are welcome to dine at the restaurant by prior arrangement – canapés and set four course dinner followed by coffee with Chefs petits fours is £45 per head.
